Inspired by Doctor Who's "Turn Left:" Pick one of my stories and tell me a point in the tale that you'd change. Something tiny (e.g. "and then Fay chose silver glitter instead of gold") or big (e.g. "and then Rose was arrested instead of Jack") and I'll tell you how that one difference would have altered the course of the entire story.

Fides: Dean doesn't ditch Castiel for Sam, he does what Sam wanted to prove himself to Sam, but he can't stay away from Castiel, but instead Castiel ditches Dean because of Ruby, maybe not breaking Dean's whole heart, but something. Wed, Jul. 8th, 2009 01:42 pm (UTC)

Sam pressed his ear to the wall, and added a push of power to make sure he could hear. Dean didn't know he could do this; Dean didn't know a lot of things. "Your soul is divided," Castiel said inexorably, repeating the first thing he'd said when he'd arrived, before Dean had dragged him outside to "talk." Sam wanted to strip off all his feathers, one by one, and then start in on the bones. He wanted the angel to be unable to hurt Dean in the first place. Dean made a miserable, shamed noise. "Can't you--I know I'm not. Right. But you said--" "That was before I saw how far you would let Sam corrupt you," Castiel said, words like concrete blocks. "You knew--you know his intentions." "He's my brother," Dean said, tear-thickened. Sam could imagine how he'd be turned away, unable to look at Castiel. "Yes, he is," Castiel agreed, and then there was silence. When Dean returned to the room, he let Sam hold him. Let Sam do everything. And if his kisses tasted more like salt than they should have, Sam was going to let him have that weakness. Oh, my heart. Why do I love it so much when Dean is all miserable? Also, I kinda love it when Sam is shady (so of course I loved him sending in Ruby) and Sam shamelessly taking advantage of broken-hearted Dean makes me really fucking happy! Plus, I always feel bad for Castiel because Dean like never picks him over Sam, and never will, so it was awesome to see him not just like begging for Dean's love. Gah. Poor Cas. Nobody loves him best. :( Wed, Jul. 8th, 2009 02:05 pm (UTC)

Dean is so very pretty when he suffers, and Sam when he's misbehaving. I'm just not sure Castiel's less-crazy desire is ever going to be a match for the two black holes of Winchester need with which he is competing. But I do like the idea of threesomes! Wed, Jul. 8th, 2009 08:17 am (UTC)

I've always wondered what would have happened had Lex taken Kara up on her offer in "Useful Arts". Because I like Kara, and apparently I think it's nifty to reward characters I like with sex with Lex, plus the added bonus of jealous!Clark. Would it have resulted in melodrama, Kryptonian style? I totally agree about the rewarding-characters-I-like-with-Lex thing. Lex would find out that, despite his long dry spell, it really was like riding a bike--a soft, curvy, highly responsive bike with superhuman stamina. They'd do it in the Oval Office and the Lincoln Bedroom and, a couple of times, places in between (the Secret Service being well trained to look the other way). They'd have immense fun--and then one day Kara would let the secret out to Clark, who'd go literally ballistic. When he came back, he would yell at them both; Kara would point out that Clark wasn't using Lex at the time. Clark would not consider that a good enough reason to sleep with that betraying snake; Kara would counter that Clark sure wasn't acting worried about Kara. So yeah, there'd have been melodrama, and a suggestion by Kara that they set up a roster, and eventually Kara would put Clark out of his misery and shove them at each other. a soft, curvy, highly responsive bike with superhuman staminahee! I love Lex; I adore Kara! any mention of a roster and I guarantee steam pouring out of Clark's ears. Thu, Jul. 9th, 2009 06:49 am (UTC)

That would have been fun to see -- especially Clark's jealous fury. *eg* Thanks for the peek! Wed, Jul. 8th, 2009 06:35 pm (UTC)

Love this! In Incarnadine, if Jonathan had been the one to drive Lex home (and hopefully comfort him). Thu, Jul. 9th, 2009 01:50 am (UTC)

If you'll take another left turn for "Incarnadine," how would it have gone if it had happened later in their relationship, when Clark was all suspicious and accusatory toward Lex? Sun, Jul. 12th, 2009 10:28 pm (UTC)

That's a hard one! I'll have to think about it. |
